Job Opportunity: Senior Accountant

The right candidate will join our growing finance department as we continue to improve the management team’s access to reliable and timely KPIs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

General

  • Proactively grow personal understanding of the Company’s systems and continuously improve and evolve processes with a focus on inventory tracking/accounting
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger and department structure especially as it relates to inventory
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing responsibilities include account reconciliation and journal entries
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Identify and record accrued and prepaid expenses and other transactions, and build and maintain supporting schedules for accounts
  • Reconcile bank, cash, and credit card transactions throughout the month and at month-end

Procure-to-Payment

  • Execute the AP workflow, including but not limited to: the verification and posting of vendor invoices, research and discovery of any missing or questionable items and ensuring the timely delivery of payment (within terms) to our vendor partners.

Order-to-Cash

  • Execute the AR workflow, including but not limited to: recurring verification and review of customer deposits and bank activity, analysis of sales revenue and reconciliation of activity.

Inventory

  • Own the inventory accounting function by supervising the month end counts and posting reconciled inventory counts to EKOS
  • Actively investigate any inventory discrepancies and identify improvements to the month end count process and the inventory management workflow.

Good communicator, self-starter, highly organized, team player, strong problem solver, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, able to work well under pressure and within deadlines, customer service oriented, detail oriented, strong excel skills, and ability to work in multiple software systems (QuickBooks, EKOS).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE)
  • 4+ years accounting experience, manufacturing industry experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization, deductive reasoning, and attention to detail
  • Continuous-improvement mindset
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and perform tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and EKOS a plus
