Rainbow Kitchen specializes in programming that strengthens food security surrounding Southern Vancouver Island. Hot breakfasts, tasty lunches, food sharing– there’s a program for everyone.

Founded in 2010, Rainbow Kitchen is a family-friendly community kitchen that specializes in providing delicious meals and connecting the community to resources. Located at 500 Admirals Rd in Esquimalt, Rainbow Kitchen is regarded as a hub for food security programming in the Capital Regional District, providing free hot meals and facilitating food sharing to anyone in need. Everyone welcome, no questions asked.

Hot Meals: Weekdays starting at 8:30 – until supplies last.

With a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, Rainbow Kitchen serves 10,000 meals every month.

Join us for a hot and delicious breakfast or lunch, served by our team of volunteers daily at Rainbow Kitchen. Vegetarian options available.

Food Sharing: Weekdays 8am – 1pm.

We rescue food from grocery stores, farmers, wholesalers and more to distribute to anyone in need. Over 10,000+ lbs of food is rescued every month.

Pilot School Meal Program

Launched in 2021 at Rockheights Middle School, three times a week a team of Rainbow Kitchen volunteers fill the ‘Fridge of Love’ with fresh muffins, yogurt parfaits and other yummy treats for students, staff or anyone else in need at Rockheights.

 

As with all our Charities of the Month, proceeds from the sale of tasters at the Growler Bar, as well as the donations we collect, will be given to this awesome and important group of folks.
